“Calisto” is a piece I created for my 2022 show in Seattle at Roq La Rue Gallery, “Nereids of Mare Medusae”. The show explored themes of graceful and ethereal water spirits (Nereids) inhabiting other ocean planets. Calisto is the second largest moon of Jupiter, and is rumored to have a salty interior ocean churning beneath its icy cold surface. Is it possible that we have ex-planetary oceans in our own solar system? What sorts of mythical creatures might inhabit these space oddities? Archival Giclee print with hand-deckled edges and hand-painted gold watercolor. Signed and numbered edition of 45. Dimensions: 10.5” x 14”. Printed in 2024 from Static Medium Prints, Los Angeles.
