About This Artwork
I began by surveying the architecture and colors that I found attractive in pictures of Mexico City. That was enough to get things started. The elements in the print including the jaguar and the quetzal bird have a long history together in Aztec and Mayan culture and folklore. The feel I wanted in the image is of a hunter and prey. I found it difficult to ignore the happenings in Mexico that are dominating the news and I thought it best to hint at this without being too overt. NOTES: 18 x 24 inches /// 5 screens (4 metallic) /// signed and numbered edition of 325 /// March 15 & 16, 2015 - Mexico City, MX at Foro Sol and El Plaza Condesa
