One visible satellite looms from above carefully watching, observing and collecting data from undisturbed nature. The sky is vibrant and alive with activity. Nature is fully awake and takes a moment to pause and inspect the eyes in the sky while listening to the echoes of camera shutters of the not so distant future. . I went through many different iterations before settling on the art you see here. In the first sketch we see a deep valley with a dramatic mountain landscape which was an exaggerated fantasy version of Wisconsin I conjured up. Management was ultimately looking for something more grounded in reality and I struggled to give the gentle rolling valleys and hills some of the drama from the first sketch. I then ventured off into some concepts involving badgers since a show in Wisconsin is likely my only chance to draw that animal. In the end none of the three initial sketches felt right and I decided to draw a family of deer set to a more naturalistic rendering of the state's climate. The show ended up happening on the night of Strawberry moon which was kismet. .
