    Muir Beach 1965

    About This Artwork

Multiples are ok. . This is a blind buy. You will get a random color way. It may be the main edition printed on pearlescent opal paper or a golden mirror or a brilliantly colored sparkle foil. Every edition is interesting in their own way and none are printed on standard white paper stock. You will like what you get. Trading with people in the poster community is encouraged. If you buy multiples I will try and insure you get different paper colors for each one. . This art was created for the Alta Journal which is a quarterly publication centered out of the great state of California. The journal features essays, fiction, poetry, and photography from the region. I was told my illustration would accompany an article referencing the famous Muir Beach Acid Tests from 1965. My hope was to capture some of the tone and feel from these electrifying parties. The bear serves as both a symbol of California and The Grateful Dead. The color pallete is meant to resemble Aurora Borealis. I liked the idea that these tests from 1965 could be compared to a rare phenomenon from nature. My alternate title for this piece is: ' The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test' in reference to Tom Wolfe's book. . NOTES: 11.9 x 14.1 inches /// 17 screens (the most I've ever done!) /// edition of 350 plus a variety printed on jewel and rainbow foil toned stocks ranging from 8-12 copies /// all editions are signed and numbered by moi /// art is dedicated to Bob Weir

    Current listed price: $75.00.
