18 x 24 - 5 color silkscreen - edition of 150 - Moontower Comedy Festival premiered in Austin in 2012 and I thought it was incredible. I was in attendance for Seth's show with Kristie (on a rare date night for our 8 year anniversary) along with Aziz Ansari and Maria Bamford. There's several times throughout the year here in Austin when the live venues are all packed with music and I think adding a festival devoted to standup comedy is something the city needed and wanted. I was approached to create a print for one of the headliners by the team that headed up the advertising for the fest. Seth was more challenging than some of the other stand ups because he hasn't put out an actual album of material to pull from. He's brilliant every week on Weekend Update but the moment I love most was his annihilation at the White House Correspondents dinner. I picture Seth that night as some kind noble eagle roasting the evil doers throughout the audience. The art is my imagining of the jokes he told that night regarding a certain well-coiffed NYC billionaire.
