Artist Lukas Kasper has turned a full stencil workflow into an approachable studio lesson. His 26-minute video begins with the tools and materials, then moves through practice exercises, image structure, sketching, knife work, and the final sprayed result.

The useful part is its emphasis on decisions rather than shortcuts. Kasper explains how bridges hold a stencil together, why a drawing has to be translated into connected positive and negative shapes, and how clean cutting affects the final edge. By the time the spray paint appears, the viewer has already seen how the image was engineered.

From paper plan to painted image

The tutorial is divided into chapters for materials, practice and structure, sketching, cutting, and spray painting, making it easy to revisit a particular stage. Kasper also demonstrates the physical handling that written guides tend to miss: rotating the paper around the blade, controlling pressure, fixing small structural problems, and spraying in deliberate passes.
