Artist, designer, and muralist Alison Brynn Ross bends wire into airy animal reliefs, transforming a simple material into pelicans, bears, deer, and other creatures.

The works sit somewhere between drawing and sculpture: thin metal lines float across painted panels, frames, and small wall-mounted supports, catching the gesture of an animal with only a few decisive bends.

Drawing In Wire
Ross uses needle-nose pliers to twist and knot wire into relief forms inspired by the beauty and oddness of nature. The charm is in the restraint: each piece feels hand-drawn, but with shadows and depth doing some of the line work.
